In the company of expert guides – who will happily drive, cook and care for you – trek through native bushland along the shores of Cloudy Bay, feel the sea breeze on your face as you conquer the Fluted Cape Circuit and spend evenings in rustic comfort at Bruny Island Lodge, reclining by the open fire or taking in miles of rolling bushland under the evening’s vast tapestry of stars.

There’s a lot to look forward to – the wildlife is diverse, with many rare and endangered species calling this island home. There’s no better way to see Tasmania’s enchanting flora and fauna up close than on foot, and this tour is the perfect chance to do just that.

Arrive Hobart – North Bruny – Luggaboine Circuit | 5km

This morning, meet your trek guides at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart at 7.45am for an 8am departure to Kettering. The gateway to the beauty of Bruny Island, Kettering is your ferry launching point across the sheltered D’Entrecasteaux Channel.

Following a 30-minute ferry ride to North Bruny, get your fix at the Bruny Island Cheese Company. There are indulgences aplenty here – the spot is also home to the Bruny Island Beer Company. Get to know your fellow travellers over an artisanal cheese board, and pick up a six-pack for your Bruny Island Lodge stay before continuing from North to South Bruny (please note that cheese and beer purchases are at your own expense).

Climb the wooden stairs of The Neck Lookout to admire panoramic vistas over the spectacular coast towards Mount Mangana and Cape Queen Elizabeth. The eastern side of The Neck is home to short-tailed shearwaters and fairy penguins, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.
