The tour’s masterstroke: four nights of accommodation at the grand estate of Torre a Cona, an 18th-century villa owned by the founding family of Martini & Rossi, set among Tuscany’s endless postcard-worthy vineyards and olive groves. It’s your gateway to the region’s very best, including dinner at The Osteria di Torre a Cona, the villa’s elegant ode to Tuscan cookery, wine tastings, cooking classes and a visit to Dario Cecchini – called the world’s most famous butcher – and his extraordinary shop.

There’s plenty of dining adventures to match. Bookend your tour with dinner at Rome’s Rimessa Roscioli – bastion of classic Roman cuisine, including fresh pasta and classic tiramisu – and Milan’s Michelin-recommended Locanda Perbellin, featuring a menu that roams from the country’s north to south. Lunch at the acclaimed Ristorante Cavallino – once the Ferrari staff canteen, now a one Michelin star restaurant specialising in regional Italian cuisine – sends the palate into overdrive.

Street food tours and tastings round out this food odyssey, including explorations of Milan’s historic panettone bakeries and risotto houses and the prosciutto spots best-loved by Parma’s locals.
