ABOUT THE RESORT:

Over ten days, this all-inclusive rail journey threads together the country’s most storied cities, beginning with three nights at The Leela Palace New Delhi. Set in the leafy Diplomatic Enclave, the hotel pairs five-star facilities with easy access to the best of India’s capital.

Before your rail adventure, you’ll savour three days in Delhi on daily private tours. Wander Old Delhi’s bazaars with a local expert, take in the soaring Qutub Minar and the perfect symmetry of Humayun’s Tomb, then trade Mughal grandeur for modern New Delhi along Rajpath.

Then, the journey continues by rail. Settle into your private Deluxe Cabin with an ensuite bathroom as the train glides out of Delhi, bound for the pink-hued city of Jaipur. Disembark for an exclusive private dinner at Rambagh Palace, the former residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur, then rise at dawn for a game drive through the Ranthambore National Park in search of the elusive Bengal tiger.

The carriages roll on through Fatehpur Sikri to the moment that draws so many travellers to India: sunrise at the Taj Mahal. Continue through riverside Orchha, the temple-strewn plains of Khajuraho and on to spiritual Varanasi, where the chants, bells and floating lamps of the Ganga Aarti close the day at the sacred ghats before returning back to Delhi.
