The land portion of your tour takes you through Denmark, Sweden, Estonia and Finland. Wander the twinkling Christmas markets of each city, exploring their historic landmarks on guided city tours and ho-ho-hopping from one cheery workshop to another, from candycane-making classes to gingerbread workshops.
In Stockholm, marvel at the city’s eclectic collection of neighbourhoods, filled with fascinating architecture, museums, food and history built up over nearly 800 years. On your travels, you’ll stroll Copenhagen’s colourful centrepiece of Nyhavn Harbour, pass by the former home of legendary fairytale author Hans Christian Andersen, enjoy a lunch of traditional Swedish meatballs and soak up Christmas cheer at the second-oldest amusement park in the world.
From one Nordic capital to another, catch the scenic rail to Stockholm, where the four-star boutique Hotel Rival awaits, owned by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and featuring original Swedish cinema stills above each bed. As you move deeper into your journey, you’ll recognise each country’s unique take on Christmas classics, including plenty of chances to savour glögg (mulled wine).
